At Menzies Community School, we are proud to be part of the Ngaparrtji Ngaparrtji Two-Way Science program in 2026. Through this partnership, our staff have had the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with other schools leading the way in Two-Way Science education, while also reflecting on and strengthening our own practices.
We use Two-Way Science pedagogies as the foundation for integrated learning across our specialist areas of Science, Technology, and The Arts. This approach supports students to build a deeper understanding of science as a meaningful way to explore, discuss, and learn about cultural practices and traditions. It also strengthens students’ language, communication, and critical thinking skills through rich, connected learning experiences grounded in both Western and First Nations knowledge systems.
Each term, students also participate in an On Country learning experience through our Bush Day program, where they apply their classroom learning in real-world contexts. These experiences provide valuable opportunities to work alongside local community members and knowledge holders, strengthening cultural connections and supporting authentic, hands-on learning on Wangkatja Country.
