Menzies CS is a project school in Two-Way Science. Two-way Science is a place-based, culturally responsive approach to education that connects the science curriculum to Aboriginal knowledge through local school and community partnerships to help make the curriculum relevant and engaging for students. It is a process of collaboration, cross-cultural communication and engagement. The result of this collaboration is that new ideas are introduced to students through a cross-cultural delivery so they become comfortable with the curriculum that is being taught toachieve learning outcomes.
Students learn science that links Aboriginal knowledge through on-Country and classroom projects to the Western Australian Curriculum: Science. This approach to teaching is referred to as Two-way Science and provides a context for delivering the
Western Australian Curriculum: Science.
