Menzies Community School is committed to providing a quality education for all students in a safe, inclusive and caring learning environment.
As a school, we offer various support services and programs to
ensure your child’s health and well-being needs are met.
Providing a free, healthy breakfast within a school breakfast program helps children to improve their concentration and fosters positive student responses to learning activities in the classroom.
Students participating in the School Breakfast Club experience the physical benefits and the program's positive social and educational aspects.
The Breakfast Club is about more than providing a healthy start to the day. Menzies CS provides a safe and welcoming environment where children can sit down and enjoy a nutritious morning meal with others. It is also a place where staff can have a daily good morning chat with the students.
All this would not be possible without the generous support of Foodbank WA and their government, corporate and philanthropic sponsors. These organisations provide funding so that Foodbank is able to purchase the breakfast food items for the schools.
In addition to providing breakfast, the school also offers fruit for recess. Increasing access to fresh fruit and vegetables has significantly impacted students' health. It also lends itself to promoting healthy eating at school.
We have been fortunate enough to have won a grant for a community garden. Through this grant, we have purchased 6 fruit trees, an additional raised garden bed and various native fruits and vegetables for the students and community to enjoy.
